What output should you expect?
Each Word table becomes a separate worksheet. Horizontal and vertical cell merges are retained; nested tables get separate sheets. Cells are stored as text to preserve leading zeros and prevent formula execution.
Prepare the file
Check that the data is inside actual Word table cells. Plain text aligned with spaces or tabs does not count as a table. Prepare that content with Word’s Convert Text to Table feature first. Save encrypted documents as an unencrypted DOCX copy.
When to use it
Use this tool for price lists, attendance tables and product lists authored in Word. Values such as product codes and phone numbers retain their leading zeros because cells are stored as text. After opening the workbook, add filters to the header row, adjust column widths and clean up the extracted data.
Conversion limitations
DOCX only. Paragraphs outside tables, images, colors and fonts are not transferred. Convert the relevant cells to numbers in Excel before doing arithmetic.

- What to check
- 10 and 20 are text cells. Convert the relevant columns to numbers before calculating totals. This example does not test merged cells or nested tables.
