Fixing an unreadable line in a phone photograph
Even when a photograph looks sharp overall, small letters near the edges may be out of focus. Zoom in before uploading and read the top, middle and bottom lines separately. Increasing file size cannot recover detail when characters have blurred together; retake the page closer to the camera while holding it steady. Remove shadows from paper folds and keep the document edges in frame. Choose the first capture from your phone gallery instead of a compressed copy received through messaging, especially when the page contains footnotes or small print.
Comparing the result paragraph by paragraph
Keep the original JPEG beside the downloaded working document. Begin with paragraph openings and endings so that you can identify omitted lines without relying entirely on spellcheck. Check split words at page endings, hyphens, punctuation and numbered items separately. Similar-looking characters such as O and 0 or l and 1 may form plausible words that a spelling checker will accept. Verify uncertain fragments against the photograph rather than guessing what they say. Once the wording matches, adjust line spacing and paragraph indentation for the intended document.
Preparing a photographed document for Word
Place the paper on a flat surface, keep the camera parallel to the page and include all four corners. Hard side lighting creates shadows, while flash can erase letters on glossy paper. Focus should be clear across the full page rather than only in the center.
How JPEG compression affects OCR
JPG can create block or ringing artifacts around text edges. Similar letters are more likely to be confused in tiny text that has been compressed repeatedly. Use the original, higher-resolution camera copy when available.
Structure of the DOCX output
The tool writes recognized lines as editable Word paragraphs. It does not exactly reproduce source fonts, signatures, stamps, images, two-column design or table geometry. The goal is a fast editing starting point; format the document before final use.
Personal documents and security
The JPG is sent over HTTPS to the ToolNova OCR service to create the Word output, and the temporary workspace cleanup step runs after processing. For IDs, health records or internal documents, separately consider your authorization and organizational policy.
